Mechanical Watches
Deserve Considered Care
Wira Putra offers specialist horological services for mechanical, water-resistant, and collector-grade timepieces — carried out with patience and precision in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
OUR SERVICES
Three Service Pathways
Each service is structured around the specific demands of your watch — its age, construction, and how it is worn.
Comprehensive Movement Overhaul
A full-service pathway for mechanical, automatic, and complication calibres. Each component is disassembled, cleaned ultrasonically, inspected under magnification, and lubricated to specification before multi-position regulation.
- Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
- Component inspection and renewal
- Multi-position timing regulation
- Multi-day observation before return
Water Resistance Service
A focused service to restore and verify the sealing integrity of your watch. All gaskets are renewed and threaded surfaces cleaned, followed by calibrated dry and wet pressure testing with written results.
- Full gasket renewal at all positions
- Crown and pusher seal inspection
- Calibrated pressure test
- Written test result on return
Collector & Vintage Service
A conservation-led pathway for vintage and collector-grade references. Originality is preserved wherever condition allows. Each step is photographed and a written dossier accompanies the returned piece.
- Conservation over refinishing
- Period-correct parts sourcing
- Full photographic record
- Owner consulted before all non-reversible steps
WHY WIRA PUTRA
How We Approach the Work
Thorough Intake Assessment
Every watch is documented through photographs and a written intake examination before any work begins — recording rate behaviour, case condition, and owner concerns.
Component-Level Inspection
Parts are examined under magnification for wear, damage, and tolerances. Renewal decisions are made methodically, not as a matter of routine replacement.
Horological-Grade Cleaning
Staged ultrasonic processes use specialist horological solvents suited to different component materials — not a single generic cycle.
Multi-Position Regulation
Movements are regulated across multiple positions on professional timing equipment, then observed over several days before any piece leaves the atelier.
Calibrated Pressure Testing
Water resistance work is verified on calibrated pressure equipment, and a written test result accompanies every returned watch that has undergone sealing work.
Transparent Documentation
Collector pieces receive a full photographic record and written condition dossier. Owners are informed before any step that cannot be undone.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What Clients Often Ask
How do I know if my watch needs a movement overhaul?
Most mechanical watches follow a service interval of five to eight years, though the appropriate timing depends on the calibre, how frequently it is worn, and whether accuracy has drifted. If your watch is running more than a few seconds per day outside its original specification, or if it hasn't been serviced in that range, it's worth bringing in for an assessment.
How long does a comprehensive overhaul take?
A standard movement overhaul typically takes four to six weeks, accounting for disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly, lubrication, multi-position regulation, and several days of observation. Collector and vintage work runs longer — twelve to eighteen weeks — due to parts sourcing and extended consultation.
What does water resistance service cover?
The service replaces all gaskets in the system — case back, crown, pushers, and crystal seat — with correctly specified components. Threaded surfaces are cleaned and treated where needed. The watch then undergoes dry pressure testing and, where suitable to its rating, wet pressure testing on calibrated equipment. A written result accompanies the piece on return.
Will the original dial and hands be preserved in a vintage service?
Preservation is the default approach. Original dials, hands, and case surfaces are retained wherever their condition allows. Where refinishing would diminish collectibility, we conserve rather than restore. If a component requires replacement, period-correct sourcing is pursued through specialist suppliers, and you are consulted before any step that cannot be reversed.
What watches do you work on?
We service mechanical, automatic, and small-complication calibres across a range of Swiss and Japanese manufacturers. Our collector pathway is specifically suited to vintage chronographs, early automatic references, and important pieces. We are happy to discuss your specific watch before booking — simply reach out with details and, if possible, photographs.
Where are you located, and can I drop the watch off in person?
We are located at 56 Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, in the Bukit Bintang district. Walk-in drop-offs are welcome during business hours, though we encourage scheduling an appointment in advance so we can give your piece the attention it deserves from the moment it arrives.
